　　In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 配乐竟然是希区柯克当年的御用配乐大师BernardHerrmann，特效同样是雷·哈里豪森，一部《神秘岛》+《海底两万里》+《绿野仙踪》的奇幻科幻冒险商业片，可以把一个极其简单的故事拍的波澜起伏趣味十足，更让人惊讶的是那个年代的好莱坞商业片就已经开始制造视觉奇观了，最后火山喷发很逼真。★★★

必须承认导演和编剧很有才，能把、故事改变得更具有戏剧性。一个个矛盾冲突的解决带来的是一系列的疑团，加之出色BGM和特效都让电影在前面1小时显得很悬疑，虽然结尾难免落入俗套。B站在线：/

让我这个书粉感到非常囧的改编，那两个莫名其妙的女人就算了，那螃蟹那鸡。。。不过特效和音乐还不错

60年代的技术，算相当好了。不过放弃里面的善恶戏剧冲突，纯粹变成怪兽+怪博士片，减分不少

看过原著，小时候也听过王刚讲的小说，剧情有点太神话了。

遗憾的是希望建立无战争世界的Nemo船长没有活下来。

雷·哈里豪森的定格怪兽是最大亮点，一举一动惟妙惟肖

对于超喜欢原著的我来说，这么改编太失败了。

每次看到这种荒岛题材的剧，总是心向往之

好小好小的时候看到很好看再找出来看一遍
